DOPE VIDEO: Captain Murphy - Duality

You may have heard of Captain Murphy. He's that new as-yet unidentified face in the bubbling cauldrons of recent avant-garde hip hop, a nebulous mystery man collaborating with the likes of Flying Lotus, Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler the Creator, Azizi Gibson, and others. He's released a series awesomely psychedelic tunes lately, but just today drops the biggest Captain Murphy release yet: The stream of the debut mixtape "Duality," accompanied by this absolutely insane 35-minute visual. DOPE BEATS: AstroLogical - Revitalizer

Every time Vancouver based beat-wizard/jellyfish AstroLogical drops new tunes, they just seem to get dramatically more amazing. He and Nick Wisdom just released another fantastic EP under their collaborative name "Potatohead People," and Astro himself just posted a taste of his forthcoming new EP "Citrus Harmony," slated to drop in 3 days. Complete with lush, dreamlike synths, heavy bouncy Astro beats, a groovy-ass bassline, and overall jazzy feel, "Revitalizer" is bound to leave you drifting.

DOPE BEATS: Side Brain - On The Second Moon of Earth

LA-based with Israeli roots, Yeuda Ben Atar aka Side Brain makes bouncy, highly video-game inspired beats. Fits in nicely with the LA beats sound, extremely reminiscent of Free The Robots, and Dutch producer Hayzee. Lush synths, punchy beats, bleeps & bloops make for a sweet sonic combination. FREE MUSIC: Amerigo Gazaway - Bizarre Tribe

This might just be one of the best mashup projects ever (in my humble, golden-era hip hop loving opinion). Producer Amerigo Gazaway mixes up beats from a Tribe Called Quest with acappellas from classic Pharcyde tunes, bringing together the best of the east and west in a way that makes them feel like they were made to be together.
